Where are you located? I live in the Heights neighborhood of Houston, Texas and am available for sessions in The Heights and surrounding neighborhoods. I am also available for travel to the Dallas area, offering newborn and family sessions. If you are in the Dallas area and would like information on upcoming availability, please use the contact form below.
What kind of photographer are you? I use natural light and photograph newborns, children, families, couples and individuals.
Do you shoot weddings? In short, no. However, If you are having a small, casual, outdoor wedding and are interested in having me photograph it, please contact me below with a few details. Otherwise, I am happy to refer you to some sweet and talented friends of mine that shoot weddings in both Houston and Dallas.
Do you provide props for sessions? I have a few items available for use during sessions, upon request. To me, photography should be intentionally personal, so I would much rather incorporate items that are unique to you. Take time to consider yourself and your family before the session. What is it that you cherish? Is there an heirloom you would like to include in a newborn session? What does your family do together that brings you joy? What makes your child get giddy with excitement? We can include anything you think will add to the session in a meaningful way.
Where will the session take place? I always first suggest considering a session at home, especially for those with small children. Kids are comfortable in their own environment, surrounded by things they love. Your home doesn't need to look like a spread in Better Homes and Gardens to make it the ideal location. The place where you dwell, where your memories are being made is the most personal setting possible. If home is not an option, I am drawn to natural outdoor settings like wooded parks, lakes/beaches, etc. However, if there is a location that is particularly special to you, let's shoot there if we can. I do not have a studio space. **Newborn sessions typically take place in the home.
How long does a session typically last? Family Sessions typically range from 1-2 hours, depending on family size, wardrobe changes, weather, and various other factors. I realize small children aren't always keen on long photo sessions so sometimes we may cut it a bit shorter if little ones get tired or uncomfortable. Likewise, I'll keep things going until I've captured your family well, however long it takes. Newborn sessions may last up to 3 hours. That may sound like a long time, but adequate time for feeding, changing and soothing baby is necessary.
Individual Sessions last 30-45 minutes. These sessions are usually best for children's milestone moments, maternity sessions or holidays.
When should newborn sessions be scheduled? Newborns are best captured within the first 10 days. However, it is best to contact me at least a month before baby due so we can get to know each other a bit beforehand.
What forms of payment do you accept? I will send you an invoice via email. A non-refundable deposit of $75 and a signed contract is due at the time of booking your session. The balance of the session fee must be paid on or before the session date. Additional products must be paid for in full before orders are placed. Cash or check are also accepted. Detailed payment information will be provided in your contract and session details.
