Ella // Newborn Session

Somehow it's been over four months since my last blog post, but that doesn't mean there has been a shortage of baby goodness going on around here.  Travels, a hard-drive crash, packing, moving and unpacking (even if only five streets over), and overall life busyness have just been keeping me away from posting for far too long.  So to break the silence, here's a little glimpse at Ella.  Isn't she a beauty?!

Knox // One Year Old

This is our buddy Knox.  He turned one last week, just a few days before my baby girl.  Because of the cold and wet weather we've been having, we decided to use the same indoor location as Emelia's session {seen here}.  Turns out living in an apartment has it's perks when the resident lounge goes largely unused and has big windows and great old wooden flooring.

Here's Knox, and his serious outlook on turning one.

Smithson Lee // Newborn Session

This is Smithson Lee, quite possibly the most laid-back newborn I've ever photographed.  This post is an example of why I love lifestyle newborn sessions so much.  I love capturing the small things that happen in those first few days at home.  Mama is usually tired and soaking in the hands, feet and face of the one who's been in her tummy for months, and dad is usually still in awe of seeing his baby being held by the woman he loves.  It's a beautiful thing.  So here is little Smithson in his light-filled home, with his mama and daddy rejoicing over the sweet gift that he is.

It's a joy and privilege to be invited into someone's home for such a significant occasion; one that I never grow tired of partaking in.  My own baby girl is due in just three short weeks, so I'll be taking a bit of time off to adjust to life with 3 littles, but if you are interested in having your own lifestyle newborn session, I will be booking sessions again starting in late May.

Everett // Newborn Session

Another baby boy for some of our very best friends, this is Everett.  Doesn't he looks just like his daddy and brothers {see last image at the bottom}?  We love this sweet family so much and are so grateful to have good friends to raise our family with.  Welcome to the world, brave Everett!!

Titus // Newborn Session

Last week was a busy week for me, photographing 3 newbies.  Even though it's been a few months since my last blog post, I hope to share each of last week's baby boys with you.  First off, meet sweet little Titus.  He is the first of 8 close friends of mine that are having baby boys in the next few months, making our baby girl (due in 6 weeks) the solo girl of the bunch.  I always feel honored when friends ask me to photograph their little ones.  I was able to witness (and photograph) big brother Luke's birth, but didn't make it to the hospital quite quick enough for Titus.  But, since I just so happened to be visiting Houston when he was born, thankfully I was able to do a quick session for them before heading home.  What a joy.

Feel free to take a peek at brother Luke's newborn session here.

Bless you, sweet friends and your handsome baby boy.  Love you guys.

Allen // Family Session

I recently had the chance to photograph my friend Lauren and her family.  We started out at their home in little Brady's room, then headed over to a lovely spot near White Rock Lake for a sunset session.  The weather couldn't have been more perfect!

Lauren is also a talented photographer, so if you have a chance, go see her work and lots more of her handsome Brady here.

Maven // Newborn Session // Part 1

There is just too much of this beautiful girl to share, so instead of one giant post, I've decided to break it down into two parts.  Today, the lifestyle portion:

I just love her little sun-filled room and can't wait to see what adventures she will go on in the years to come.  More of Maven coming tomorrow...

Olivia at the Beach | Photo Session

Summer has arrived!  Sand, sun, heat and humidity were all waiting with open arms to greet my family to Houston last week, along with the opportunity for two quick photo shoots. Here's a look at the first one, little Olivia.  I believe this is the fourth time I've photographed her, and each time her hair is longer and lovlier, and she moves just a little bit quicker.

While this session took place at Sylvan Beach in La Porte, I wonder if there would be any interest from those in the Gulf Coast area for Bolivar Beach Fall Sessions.  If that sounds appealing to you, would you leave me a comment below?  Sometimes it's nice to venture away from the beloved wooded backgrounds I typically shoot, and the beach is much more bearable when the weather isn't quite so cruel.
